Ham Radio Exam in Kearny Mesa, San Diego, CA - All Elements Offered

This ham radio exam session is held in conjunction with the San Diego ARES Activity Day. Meet other hams and view radios and antennas in opperation. Get help with your radios or questions answered.

Find out more about San Diego ARES at https://www.sdgares.net/. You do not need to be a member of ARES to participate in testing. Everyone in the San Diego area and beyond are welcome.

We offer amateur radio exams for technician class and upgrades to general or extra class.

Please bring:

1. $15 for adult or $5 for minor (ARRL reinbursement grant is available for youth and will reinburse the $35 FCC application fee.)
2. a government issued photo ID
3. calculator - Basic or we will provide one.
4. pencil or we will provide one.

If you plan to hang around for the activity day in the park bring:

1. chair and chair unbrella, if you have one. You'll want shade.
2. hat
3. sunscreen
4. drinks and snacks
5. any radio which you would like help with.

Walk-ins are allowed, but preregistration is prefered. The testing is located in the Kearney Mesa Recreation Center and the ARES Activity Day ham radio event is in the park behind it.
