A completed 605 (see attachment to email, must have active email address, must have FRN, NO Social Security Numbers allowed).  Pencils and a pen.

 $15.00 Check made out to ARRL – VEC (No Cash but Money Order is acceptable) o $5 if you are under the age of 18 (17 and under)

 Photo ID, Government Issued (Driver’s License, Passport, Student ID, etc)

 Photocopy (for us to keep) of your current amateur radio license, if already licensed. (We do not need a copy of your driver’s license.)

Getting your license from the FCC – additional $35 fee. If you are upgrading you license class there are no additional fees and your upgrade will show up on the FCC ULS website in a few days, assuming all goes well. However, if you are getting a new license, the FCC has instituted an additional $35 fee. After receiving your application, the FCC will contact you using the email address you provided on your application instructing you to pay the $35 fee. After you pay that fee, your application will be processed. If you are under the age of 18, the ARRL will reimburse you for that $35 charge for your first license application.

You Need an FRN when Applying for a new Amateur Radio license. Don’t have one? Register in CORES (COmission REgistration System) and receive your FRN (Federal Registration Number) before sitting for your exam to ensure your new license is processed quickly and easily through the FCC's ULS (Universal Licensing System). To conduct business with the FCC, you must register through FCC CORES and be assigned an FRN. This number will be used to uniquely identify you in all transactions with the FCC.
