Sierra Foothills VE Team - Auburn, CA

Welcome to the friendliest amateur radio Volunteer Exam group in California! We offer in-person ham radio exam sessions which are open to the public. Walk-in applicants are welcome, though if you are planning to attend, please pre-register. We always have a group of Elmers (mentors) at each session to help guide you though the exam process. You are welcome to hang around after the session for one on one time with an Elmer, talk about your interests, radio gear, antennas, receive information on local clubs, events and upcoming activities.

Plan to arrive 15 minutes in advance and bring the following items:

1. Photo ID: Current federal, state, military or passport. If under the age of 18 a valid school ID
2. FRN - FCC Registration Number https://www.fcc.gov/licensing-databases/commission-registration-system-fcc
3. Credit or debit card to authorize a $14 payment for the exam session

Please note that the exams will be administered on tablets provided by the SFARC VE Team, which includes a calculator application. Candidates will be provided paper / pencil and not allowed to use their personal phone, tablet, computer or any other electronic device during the exam.
